Juraj Hostak is the director of the Department of Innovation and Smart Agenda of the Ministry of Investments, Regional Development and Informatization of the Slovak Republic (MIRDI SR). Since 2015, he has been working in the field of supporting innovation and the Smart Agenda at the national and regional level. In the past, he held managerial positions in the private sector and specialized in the management and implementation of technological and process innovation projects, analysis and design of innovative forms of financing, smart solutions in public administration as well as strategic consulting in the preparation and implementation of conceptual and strategic materials at local, regional and international level.

At present, Juraj leads the development of and support to the Smart Agenda in Slovakia from the position of MIRDI SR as the national coordinator of the agenda of smart cities and regions (SCR), namely implementation of dedicated EU funding allocation, provision of technical assistance and capacity buildup, SCR data management, development and up-scale of innovative solutions for SCR. He is also responsible for the implementation of selected measures from the Recovery and Resilience Plan of the SR, and activities at the EU level in the above-mentioned areas.
